Irving Babbitt (2 Agustus 1865 – 15 Juli 1933) adalah seorang akademisi dan kritikus sastra asal Amerika Serikat, yang dikenal karena perannya dalam mendirikan gerakan yang kemudian dikenal sebagai Humanisme Baru—suatu pengaruh penting dalam wacana sastra dan pemikiran konservatif antara tahun 1910 dan 1930.
Babbitt merupakan pendukung humanisme klasik namun juga menawarkan pembelaan yang ekumenis terhadap agama. Humanisme yang ia ajarkan menuntut keluasan pengetahuan terhadap berbagai tradisi moral dan keagamaan. Karyanya yang berjudul Democracy and Leadership (1924) dianggap sebagai salah satu teks klasik dalam tradisi pemikiran politik konservatif.
Irving Babbitt dikenal luas sebagai sosok yang memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap konservatisme kultural dan politik Amerika.[1]
