Nepenthes monticola adalah kantong semar tropis yang ditemukan di sejumlah gunung di dataran tinggi barat tengah bagian baratPulau Papua, tempat tanaman ini tumbuh pada ketinggian 1.400–2.620m di atas permukaan laut.[2][3] Sebelum dideskripsikan sebagai spesies pada tahun 2011, N.monticola digabungkan dengan spesies yang berkerabat dekat, yaitu N.lamii.[2][4]
