The HQ-29 (simplified Chinese: 红旗-29; traditional Chinese: 紅旗-29; pinyin: Hóng Qí-29; lit. 'Red Banner-29') is an anti-ballistic missile (ABM) and anti-satellite weapon (ASAT) system developed by the People's Republic of China. The system was first observed in a transporter erector launcher in June 2025.^[5][6][7] The missile reportedly has a range similar to the SM-3 Block IIA variant.^[8] The missile system was officially unveiled on 2025 China Victory Day Parade.^[9]The HQ-29 long-range, anti-ballistic missile (ABM) has designed to neutralize ballistic missiles with ranges of up to 5,500 kilometers. The missile can reach targets at altitudes of up to 2000 kilometers and can reach hypersonic speeds outside the atmosphere^[10][11]
