Austin DeSanto (born October 10, 1998) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 61 kilograms.

DeSanto was a Pennsylvania state champion in high school wrestling. He was a four-time NCAA All-American in collegiate wrestling. At the international level, he is a former winner of the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane (2023, 2026) and Grand Prix Zagreb Open (2026).

He is currently signed to the Bantamweight division of Real American Freestyle (RAF), where he is the reigning RAF Bantamweight Champion.

High school career

DeSanto wrestled for Exeter Township Senior High School, winning the Pennsylvania state championship at 126 lbs. his senior year in 2017 with a finals victory over Spencer Lee.^[1]

He finished his high school wrestling career with an overall record of 188–7.^[1]

College career

DeSanto committed to Drexel University.^[2]

He went 30–7 at Drexel before transferring to the University of Iowa in 2018.^[3]

In 2019 and 2020, DeSanto was named an NCAA All-American.^[4]^[5]

He placed 3rd at 133 lbs. in the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, and was named an NCAA All-American for the third time.^[6]

DeSanto finished 3rd at 133 lbs. in the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, and was named an NCAA All-American for the fourth time.^[7]

He went 72–16 at Iowa, and ended his collegiate wrestling career with an overall record of 102–23.^[8]

International career

DeSanto won bronze in the 61 kg division of the 2022 Poland Open, losing in the semifinals to Taras Markovych before defeating Daniel DeShazer.^[9]

He won gold in the 61 kg finals of the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane 2023, defeating Shelton Mack by decision.^[10]

DeSanto won bronze in the 61 kg division of the 2023 Ibrahim Moustafa Tournament, losing in the semifinals to Taras Markovych before defeating Shota Phartenadze.^[11]

He took silver in the 61 kg division of the 2023 Poland Open, losing in the finals to Daton Fix.^[12]

DeSanto won gold in the 61 kg finals of the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane 2026, defeating Leomid Colesnic by decision.^[13]

He won gold in the 61 kg round-robin tournament of the 2026 Grand Prix Zagreb Open, defeating competitors including Aman Sehrawat.^[14]

DeSanto won bronze in the 61 kg division of the 2026 Muhamet Malo Tournament, losing in the semifinals to Zaur Uguev before defeating Nathan Tomasello.^[15]

Real American Freestyle

He debuted for Real American Freestyle (RAF) at RAF 02 on October 25, 2025, defeating Nico Megaludis by technical fall.^[16]

DeSanto defeated Nathan Tomasello at RAF 05 on January 10, 2026 to win the RAF Bantamweight Championship.^[17]
