Gibson was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk to begin the 2026 season, posting a 2-2 record and 4.01 ERA with 25 strikeouts over six starts.[4] On May 3, 2026, Gibson was selected to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time.[5] He made his MLB debut later that day against the New York Yankees, allowing three earned runs on four hits over 4+2⁄3 innings pitched.[6]
