The Structure of Evolutionary Theory (2002)^[1] adalah buku tentang makroevolusi yang ditulis oleh paleontolog Stephen Jay Gould dan diterbitkan dua bulan sebelum kematiannya. Buku ini dibagi menjadi dua bagian. Bagian pertama berisi sejarah dan eksegesis pemikiran evolusioner yang banyak mengutip sumber primer. Bagian kedua adalah kritik konstruktif untuk teori Darwin kontemporer dan mencoba mendukung interpretasi evolusi biologis berdasarkan teori keseimbangan bersela.^[2][3]
