Terorisme komunis

Terorisme komunis merujuk kepada terorisme yang dilakukan dalam memajukan, atau dilakukan oleh kelompok-kelompok yang mengikuti komunisme atau ideologi-ideologi terkait, seperti Trotskyisme, Leninisme, Maoisme, atau Marxisme–Leninisme. Dalam sejarah, terorisme komunis terkadang mengambil bentuk terorisme yang didukung oleh negara, seperti Uni Soviet,^[1]^[2] Tiongkok,^[2] Korea Utara^[2] dan Kamboja.^[3] Selain itu, aktor non-negara seperti Brigade Merah, Barisan Depan dan Faksi Tentara Merah juga melakukan terorisme komunis.^[4]^[5] Kelompok-kelompok tersebut berharap untuk menginspirasi masyarakat untuk bangkit dan memulai revolusi untuk menggulingkan sistem politik dan ekonomi yang ada.^[6] Bentuk terorisme tersebut terkadang disebut terorisme merah atau terorisme kiri.^[7]

Akhir Perang Dingin dan kejatuhan Uni Soviet berujung pada penurunan bentuk terorisme tersebut.^[8] Brian Crozier, pendiri dan direktur Institute for the Study of Conflict,^[9] berkata bahwa komunisme menjadi sumber utama terorisme yang didukung negara dan non-negara.^[10]
