Telus Digital (stylized TELUS Digital) is a Canadian business process outsourcing (BPO) and technology company and subsidiary of Telus Corporation. The company provides services in customer experience management, digital solutions, artificial intelligence (AI) and data, and trust, safety and security. [2]
The company, then known as TELUS International, began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange in February 2021 under the ticker symbol TIXT.[3] In 2025, TELUS acquired the remaining shares of TELUS Digital and took the company private. [4]
History

In 2005, TELUS invested in Ambergris Solutions, a Business process outsourcing (BPO) company in the Philippines, to offer additional customer service for North America.[5] Ambergris Solutions rebranded to TELUS International in 2007.[6]
In 2008, TELUS International invested in Transactel to establish CX centers in Guatemala and El Salvador.[7] TELUS International invested in CallPoint New Europe in 2012 and expanded into Bulgaria and Romania.[8] In 2014, Callpoint New Europe rebranded to TELUS International,[9] and Transactel rebranded to TELUS International the following year.[7]
In 2016, Baring Private Equity Asia acquired a 35% stake in TELUS International, with TELUS continuing to hold the remaining 65%.[10] TELUS International acquired Voxpro Group in 2017 and expanded locations in the U.S. It also established a presence in Ireland.[11] In 2018, TELUS International invested in Xavient Digital for their digital and IT solutions[buzzword] portfolio, and also to enable delivery centres in India.[12] The company then acquired Competence Call Center in 2020, expanding its European presence.[13] In 2021, Fast Company named the company one of its 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators[14] in the International category.[15] TELUS International acquired Lionbridge's artificial intelligence division, adding data annotation, in 2021.[16] In 2021, the company was listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges on February 3 under the ticker TIXT.[17] This listing was the largest-ever tech IPO for the TSX.[18][19] TELUS International acquired Playment in 2021.[20] TELUS International acquired the U.S. company WillowTree, a digital product consultancy, in the beginning of 2023.[21] The sale was for U.S.$1.2-billion.[22][23]
In the third quarter of 2024, TELUS International announced a suite of changes including the departure of longtime CEO Jeff Puritt. TELUS International also announced its intention to rebrand as TELUS Digital to better align with the company's goals. Jason Macdonnell, a senior member of leadership at TELUS, was announced as acting CEO. [24]
On September 18, 2024, the company officially launched its global rebrand, transitioning from TELUS International to TELUS Digital; the company's legal name did not change.[25]
On September 27, 2024, TELUS acquires additional shares of TELUS Digital to increase their ownership from 56.8% to 57.7% of outstanding shares.[26]
On May 28, 2025, the company announced its acquisition of Gerent, a U.S.-based Salesforce-focused consultancy.[27]
On September 2, 2025, Telus announced its plan to acquire the remaining shares of Telus Digital that were not already owned by Telus, taking Telus Digital private.[28]
On September 18, 2025, the company unveiled a refreshed brand identity.[29]
On October 31, 2025, Telus Corporation completed the privatization of Telus Digital.[30]
Services
TELUS Digital’s enterprise services in customer experience management include outsourced customer support and digital experience operations, as well as consulting and transformation services related to customer experience and digital strategy.[31][32]
The company’s digital and technology services include digital product development capabilities, which were expanded through its acquisition of WillowTree.[33]
Its artificial intelligence and data services include data annotation, AI training data development, and analytics supporting machine learning systems.[34]
The company has also been associated with AI-driven customer experience solutions and integrations with cloud-based contact center technologies.[35]

Social responsibility
TELUS Digital participates in volunteer and community investment initiatives as part of the broader social-impact activities of its parent company, TELUS, which was included in TIME and Statista's inaugural list of the World's Most Sustainable Companies in 2024.[39][40]

2026 1 petabyte cybersecurity incident
In March 2026, a notorious cyber crime group known as ShinyHunters claimed to several high-profile news agencies that they stole over 1 petabyte (PB) of data from Telus & Telus Digital. The group demanded a staggering $65 million dollar ransom in exchange for not leaking the company's data. The stolen data according to multiple prominent media outlets like Reuters and Bloomberg included information related to more than two dozen companies that included personally identifiable information, call data and recordings (CDRs), FBI background check information, financial information, Salesforce data, and source code spanning multiple business divisions within the business services and telecommunications company. The stolen data also reportedly impacts Telus' telecommunication services; customers and call logs. [50][51][52]
