By November 2012, Newton was slated to direct an original Pixar feature film, with Derek Connolly writing the screenplay.[2]
In November 2018, it was announced that Newton would direct Sneaks.[3] However, in June 2021, he was replaced by Rob Edwards.[4]
In September 2019, it was announced that Newton would create the story for a Funko film for the Warner Animation Group, now known as Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.[5]
Personal life
Newton is married to Stacey, a story manager at Pixar Animation Studios. They have a son.[6]
