The Kalik 44 is a development of the Kalik 40, with the hull lengthened and was developed into the Ocean 44.^[1][5]

Design

The Kalik 44 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally mounted skeg rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 25,000 lb (11,340 kg) and carries 10,600 lb (4,808 kg) of ballast. The boat has a draft of 6.50 ft (1.98 m).^[1][2][5]

The boat is fitted with a Perkins Engines diesel engine of 50 hp (37 kW).^[1][5]

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 90. It has a hull speed of 8.16 kn (15.11 km/h).^[2][5]
