Guettarda atau Titi laut ( velvetseed )adalah salah satu genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam famili Rubiaceae. Sebagian besar spesiesnya merupakan tumbuhan wilayah neotropis.[1] Dua puluh diantranya ditemukan di Kaledonia Baru dan satu spesies mencapai Australia.[2] Beberapa lainnya ditemukan di pulau-pulau dan di wilayah pesisir Samudera Hindia dan Pasifik. Anggota genus ini adalah pohon habitat pesisir yang tingginya mencapai 18 m.
Guettarda dinamai oleh Linnaeus pada tahun 1753 dalam bukunya yakni Species Plantarum.[5][6] Nama generik ini ditunjukan untuk menghormati naturalis asal Prancis pada abad ke-18, Jean-Étienne Guettard.[7]
Genus ini sangat membutuhkan revisi. Penelitianfilogenetika molekuler telah menemukan bahwa ia beberapa kali bersifat polifiletik, dengan beberapa kelompoknya bersifat parafiletik pada genua kecil.[8]
