Beqaa Governorate (Arabic: مقاطعة البقاع, romanized:Muḥāfaẓat al-Biqāʿ) is a governorate in Lebanon and one of the eight districts of the country. It is located in the eastern part of Lebanon and borders Syria. The capital of the district is the city of Zahlé.[1][2]

Beqaa Governorate
Since 2014, Beqaa Governorate contains three districts:
A law (Law 522) was passed on 16 July 2003 to separate Baalbek District and Hermel District from Beqaa Governorate to form the new Baalbek-Hermel Governorate.[3] Implementation of Baalbek-Hermel Governorate began in 2014 with the appointment of its first governor.[4]
