It is also not to be confused with autoeroticism, as autosexuality is considered a sexual orientation, while autoeroticism is not.[2]
According to clinical sexologist and sex and relationships therapist Cyndi Darnell, “For folks who identify as autosexual, the current definition and understanding is that they are people who prefer solo erotic practice, solo pleasure practice, or self-touch practices—such as masturbation—over partnered sexual activities”.[7]
Autosexuality was also discussed on the talk show The View.[8]
