Alex Woolf, FSA Scot (kelahiran 1963) adalah seorang akademisi dan sejarawan abad pertengahan asal Inggris. Ia mengkhususkan diri dalam sejarah Kepulauan Britania dan Skandinavia pada Abad Pertengahan Awal, khususnya dalam hubungan bangsa Wales dan Skotlandia. Ia adalah dosen senior di Universitas St Andrews.^[1]

Ia adalah penulis volume dua dalam New Edinburgh History of Scotland, yang membahas periode antara 789 dan 1070. Atas karya tersebut, ia memenangkan penghargaan Saltire Society 2008 untuk "buku sejarah tahun ini".
