Twelve events were contested, eight for the men and four for the women at the Velódromo Luis Carlos Galán. There were three events held at the championships for the first time: men's team sprint (women's team sprint followed in 2007), men's madison and women's 500 m time trial. They replaced the men's tandem and men's stayers events. In the same period, the 1995 UCI Road World Championships were organized in Duitama, Colombia.[2] Medal table RankNationGoldSilverBronzeTotal1 France (FRA)32272 Australia (AUS)30253 Italy (ITA)23164 Russia (RUS)12035 Germany (GER)11026 United States (USA)10347 Great Britain (GBR)10018 Argentina (ARG)0101 Canada (CAN)0101 Lithuania (LTU)0101 Ukraine (UKR)010112 Estonia (EST)0011 Kazakhstan (KAZ)0011 Norway (NOR)0011 Switzerland (SUI)0011Totals (15 entries)12121236 Medal summary Event Gold Silver Bronze Men's Events Men's sprint details Darryn Hill Australia Curt Harnett Canada Frédéric Magné France Men's 1 km time trialdetails Shane Kelly Australia Florian Rousseau France Erin Hartwell United States Men's keirindetails Frédéric Magné France Michael Hübner Germany Federico Paris Italy Men's team sprintdetails Jens FiedlerMichael HübnerJan van Eijden Germany Benoit VetuHerve ThuetFlorian Rousseau France Marty NothsteinErin HartwellBill Clay United States Men's madisondetails Silvio MartinelloMarco Villa Italy Gabriel CuruchetJuan Curuchet Argentina Kurt BetschartBruno Risi Switzerland Men's points racedetails Silvio Martinello Italy Remigijus Lupeikis Lithuania Sergey Lavrenenko Kazakhstan Men's individual pursuitdetails Graeme Obree Great Britain Andrea Colinelli Italy Stuart O'Grady Australia Men's team pursuitdetails Bradley McGeeStuart O'GradyRodney McGeeTim O'Shannessy Australia Dimitri TolstenkovBogdan BondariewSergiy MatveyevAlexander Symonenko Ukraine Mariano FriedickDirk CopelandZach ConradMatt Hamon United States Women's Events Women's 500 m time trialdetails Félicia Ballanger France Galina Enukhina Russia Michelle Ferris Australia Women's sprint details Félicia Ballanger France Olga Slyusareva Russia Erika Salumäe Estonia Women's points racedetails Svetlana Samokhalova Russia Nada Cristofoli Italy Nathalie Lancien France Women's individual pursuitdetails Rebecca Twigg United States Antonella Bellutti Italy May-Britt Vaaland Norway References ↑ "Velodromo Luis Carlos Galan (Bogota)".
