Hi, I was referred to here as a new editor. I mentioned over at the Teahouse that I'm very familiar with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, so I doubt I'll need much guidance over that. I've also been a Wiktionary editor for over six months now. I've noticed that a lot of articles about Turkish subjects are of bad quality, with NPOV violations, uncited text, original research, and bad or even incomprehensible grammar. I know I can technically just go and try to improve articles, but I would like some guidance on where to start. Specifically, I have a strong feeling that many Turkish sources (especially journalistic ones) are generally not reliable, but they often seem to be the most cited sources in articles. I was also referred to the Wikipedia library (which I have access to through my Wiktionary edits). Are there any more experienced Wikipedians here who'd be willing to help me find sources and otherwise improve articles about Turkey? Thank you. Wreaderick (talk) 14:58, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Request for removal of irrelevant article from the WikiProject Turkey
The notice "This article has been rated as Mid-importance on the project's importance scale." has been added to the Talk page of the article Victorian Turkish baths. I suggest the article is of no importance, or even relevance, to Turkey or any of the subject areas it covers. In an article of 13,655 words, the word 'Turkey' appears twice as an en passant geographical reference. I think this could not have been included by any person who has read the article, but was perhaps included by a computer confused by the adjectival phrase 'Victorian Turkish'. How do I go about having it removed? Many thanks for any help you can provide. Ishpoloni (talk) 23:24, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
For some reason there is no minus sign before the categories as there is elsewhere. How can I remove this category? Ishpoloni (talk) 09:12, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
You should go to the talk page of the article and remove the corresponding template. Be prepared to discuss if reverted. Ymblanter (talk) 20:41, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi, we just had a little spree of move vandalism of Turkey-related articles after Apseydemgil(talk·contribs) decided to burn out in flames. I think we've got the worst of it - he seems to have escalated from recieving negative feedback about some good faith if over-enthusiastic spelling variant renames to the vandalism, but I don't speak Turkish and it would be good if someone could get some eyes on it and confirm that there's no sneaky profanity etc. Thanks, Morwen (talk) 23:40, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
