@Kodak11111: There were some discussions previously on WT:FOOTY (for example here) about how to format the reports. Since the match details in {{Football box}} are being cited from the FIFA reports, they really should be formatted properly as a reference instead of as an external link. This has gradually been adopted more in recent years, for example see 2025–26 UEFA Champions League knockout phase. Additionally, since the World Cup article already contains a large number of references, I think dividing the report citations into their own reference group yields a cleaner appearance so they may be differentiated from the standard article citations (this has been similarly done on other articles too, for example see Heather O'Reilly#References or Carli Lloyd#References).
