Hello, just wondering if you might remember what your thinking was in this edit, given that MUME is a mud, and not a mud client - only one sentence of the current section appears to be about a mud client. "MUME uses PowTTY, a client based upon Powwow (for unix) and PuTTY." Morwen (talk) 19:00, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
Hi, Morwen, thank you for the note.
Like many, if not most muds, MUME is actually it's own client. Use of other clients like powtty can potentially be used, as well. If I recall, there were several potential clients and add-ons available as options for mume.
Due to how things were back in the dial-up era, the dividing line between a mud and a user interface/"client", is fuzzy at best.
Perhaps the list should be renamed to List of MUDs and clients, or some such, in order to better cover the topic. - jc37 01:53, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello. Thanks for your thought. I've done my time in the MUD mines myself. their webpage seems to make the distinction between the game MUME and a variety of different client options they present, including their own, which is built into a programme they call 'MMapper'. Anyway, what I've done subsequently is move the text over to DikuMUD on the grounds that although MUME might not be a mud client, it is definitely a DikuMUD. Sounds fine.
As an aside, check out for the different ways to access the game.
Thanks again for the note. Happy editing: ) - jc37 02:46, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
That's um, the page I linked to? Did you mean to provide a different link? Morwen (talk) 16:09, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I'm responsible for only the initial version of the underlying map, as a PNG, that has been since vectorified and annotated. I don't have any special knowledge about how the SVG was made. Might as well do it yourself? Morwen (talk)
