Safi (Persian: صفی, romanized:Ṣafi; born Sam Mirza; 1611 – 12 May 1642) was the sixth Shah of Safavid Iran from 1629 to 1642. He was the son of Mohammad Baqer Mirza, the crown prince of Safavid Empire, who died before inheriting the throne, and succeeded his grandfather, Abbas the Great. Born as Sam Mirza, he spent much of his life secluded in the royal harem amongst the king's wives and the eunuchs.
