Etnis Tionghoa di Rusia secara resmi berjumlah 34.578 menurut sensus 2002.[1] Namun, angka tersebut diperdebatkan. Komisi Urusan Tionghoa PerantauanRepublik China di Taiwan mengklaim bahwa jumlahnya adalah 998.000 pada 2004 dan 2005, sementara ahli demografi Rusia umumnya memperkirakan terdapat 200.000–400.000 orang pada 2004.[2][3]
