Usage
{{Split section|Title to which to split|discuss={{subst:TALKPAGENAME}}#Split proposed|date=May 2026}}
The first parameter represents the title for the proposed new page, and |discuss= provides a link to the discussion thread on the talk page of the article proposed for splitting (it can be named explicitly or you can use the {{subst:TALKPAGENAME}}"magic word"; |discuss=Talk:{{subst:PAGENAME}}#Split proposed would also work). The example above produces:
Of course, the page "Title" already exists, but your actual page title will most likely be either a red link or a redirect.
If more than one target article needs to be named, use the more robust template {{Split portions}}:
{{Split portions|portion=this section|First title to which to split|Second title to which to split|discuss={{subst:TALKPAGENAME}}#Split proposed|date=May 2026}} (supports up to 20 titles).
This page is currently being split out.
Consensus to split out this page into [[]] has been found. You can help implement the split by following the resolution on the discussion and the splitting instructions.
