This article is completly wrong. Check UNMISET information. These are subdistricts, not municipalities. The Sucos would be closest to sth like a municipalities. Anyhow there are only 65 subdistricts and the former map showed old borders under Indonesian occupation. There was a change inb 2003. Even the naming kotamadya was Indonesian. J. Don't worry, Patrick. I've expanded from the Dutch site of Wikipedia but I just want to re-verify in case that those are actually all of the 443 "sucos". Johnluisocasio 13:08, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Municipalities
It seems that municipality is a better term for suco than village, especially as they cover a wide area with a number of villages (aldeias) within them. For example the village of Fatubessi is in the municipality of Fatubessi, along with five other villages. --Bejnar (talk) 04:55, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes and no. There are plans to change the status of districts into municipalities. Sucos could be a village, several villages together, a part of a village, a part of a city... . All scientific and governmental papers I know are translating sucos into villages, but I would say "sucos" are "sucos".😉 --J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 05:55, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
There are 10 new sucos and 8 new aldeias in TL.

Thanks for the heads up, Patrick. I will try to update the article shortly. Bahnfrend (talk) 06:00, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
