This is not completely true. Two very early albums were released on cassette only by ROIR, they were THE INITIAL COMMAND and STATE OF MIND.--Nick (talk) 21:19, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Unknown member in promo picture
I've just updated the promo picture in the infobox, but I can't identify the new live member.
If anyone knows whether he is Jared Slingerland or Craig Huxtable or someone else altogether, it would be appreciated if his name could be added to the picture caption. Many thanks.
Whenever this article is created, there should be a note saying that neither release includes the track "Eternal", which the original tape and its most popular bootleg, Everlasting Terror both have. Filter1987 02:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
What does the name mean?
Hello everyone, what does Front Line Assembly genuinely mean, or what is the first (second, third ...) thing that comes to mind when hearing the name? Apologies, for I do not speak English as a native tongue (and automated translation tools mostly fail when confronted with two or more english words being one semantic phrase). I'd like to also include this information in the German article. Thanks in advance, -- marilyn.hanson 22:18, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Although this isn't a definitive answer, the band's name makes two things come to mind: "Front Line" and "Assembly Line." Front line being the foremost major elements of a deployed military force (where most fighting in theory takes place) and assembly line, the (industrial) manufacturing process. This adds up what with FLA being an industrial band with influences from science fiction conceptions of warfare (e.g. "Tactical Neural Implant"). Darkentity7 21:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
I believe Front Line Assembly refers to the first wave of manufacturing of a good.Yeago 20:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
I have a link to an interview where Leeb explains where the name came from. It is already in the references ATM. I will be including this into the article during my major revisions. Xe7al (talk) 04:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Monument link is wrong
The link for the Monument album (Discography: Other Work) points to an album of the same name by a band called Seigmen.
Delerium?
Delerium is perhaps more well-known than FLA. There should be some mention of this project within the article. The Jade Knight 22:36, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
LEFT SPINE DOWN + CHRIS PETERSON
I think seeing LEFT SPINE DOWN features 2 of the members of FLA....used to have a 3rd........and is produced by yet another member of FLA........Chris Peterson...............I think the act should be a RELATED BAND/ACT
also someone needs to make CHRIS PETERSON a wiki page...........right now all teh links to him go to a football player or some metal guitar guy..........wrong.--Hollywoodnorthreport 11:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
update...I have created a stub page for CHRIS PETERSON now you can add to it here .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Peterson_(producer) I have updated alot of the FLA links on the main page and the album pages to correctly point to Chris`s new wiki page. About time the man had one..... Hollywoodnorthreport 09:07, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Discography images
...are gone, per WP:NONFREE. I'll work out a new discography section shortly, as the current one is kindof a mess. Tarc 15:28, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Initial update is in. Tarc 18:42, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Side Projects
Such a plain list like it is now feels somehow wrong. Some are side projects of Bill, some of Rhys, some of Chris... It should be added for clarity. --Duke B. Garland 18:49, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Tough call. I'm guessing you'd want to remove side projects unless two of the three above participated?Yeago 14:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I think side projects from Jeremy Inkel should also be included. Hollywoodnorthreport (talk) 05:36, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Edit to Soy Leeb
This link removed from page, as it points to a squatter site now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cortana (talk • contribs) 00:29, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Genre Clean-up
I think it's about time we cleaned up the list of genres. We have three forms of Industrial, Alternative Dance (what?), and EBM there. Xe7al (talk) 20:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Primary genres should be electro-industrial, electronica, industrial metal... and EBM (e.g. on their early releases such as "Corrosion"). Electronica is still missing... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.134.16.245 (talk) 08:42, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Discography Clean-Up
We need to really clean up the Discography. A good example would be Nine Inch Nails where they did a basic Discography on the main page, then did a detailed discography on a separate page. It would make the article look much better. Xe7al (talk) 21:04, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I've started a Discography page where all the detailed listing went that can be found at Front Line Assembly discography. The page is starting to look better without all the tables. Xe7al (talk) 21:48, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Expand article with a full Bio
It would probably be best for this article to have a detailed Biography added. A good source of Bio information would be Mindphaser's History Page. Xe7al (talk) 22:03, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Looking forward to your contributions. =)Yeago (talk) 01:54, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll probably be jumping on this next weekend. This article has a lot more potential. I'm shooting for a B class article in the short term. Xe7al (talk) 06:26, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Warranted. Waiting for appropriate effort. Will backup with copyedits.Yeago (talk) 06:35, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Sounds great. I always prefer having someone backing me up on major work, especially when someone like yourself has contributed so much to this page. I'll be using Nine Inch Nails as an example for a lot of the work since it is a featured A class article on WikiProject Industrial. It's definitely one of the better articles. Xe7al (talk) 06:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
mosdef. Its disappointing to have such a well-appreciated act such as FLA so underrepresented here. takes bold effort. =) looking forward to it.Yeago (talk) 06:58, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
I have begun to work down the page. I have comments placed in the article at this time to note how far I am through the article. So far I have begun to restructure the introduction (more will come) and restructure the History section. I just passed the creation of the two demo tapes. BTW, I'm making sure to cite this article well as I write this. Like I said, I want to kick it up to a B class article. Xe7al (talk) 04:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Michael Balch's role in forming FLA
Michael Balch did not found the band with Leeb. He came on-board two years after the founding of FLA so I removed him from the opening line saying those two formed the group. The only member that has solidly stayed with the group is Leeb himself. I did include Balch since he is a notable figure in the music industry who has worked with Leeb. Just giving you guys a heads up before I get crucified for not naming Balch as a founder. Xe7al (talk) 04:41, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Requesting Band Picture
I will be requesting the photo I requested before for addition to this page. My previous request was not conducted properly so I just sent a formal request again. I'll update if I receive an answer. Xe7al (talk) 23:56, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Removing Soundtrack Information
I just removed the sentence: "In 2006 the band submitted tracks from their Artificial Soldier to the soundtrack for the horror film FrightWorld, slated for a 2007 release."
I'm going to leave it here for the time-being. This could be added to the Artificial Soldier article instead. Either way, it has no place in the History section in my opinion. Xe7al (talk) 22:17, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Removal of member table
I'm replacing the member table with a different way to organize that information. Keep in mind, if you want to reference back to anything on that table, here's a link to the last time in history it was used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xe7al (talk • contribs) 00:42, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Members lists in infox are too inclusive
See the infobox's documentation. The members fields are not for session musicians. All sorts of people are being included in this list for minor roles, who have never been officially credited as band members. — SMcCandlishTalk⇒ ɖ∘¿¤þ Contrib. 12:06, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Members lists reloaded
I cleaned up the members lists for said reasons. According to official and reliable sources such as album liner notes and mindphaser.com there have been only six official members of FLA in different periods of time: Bill Leeb, Michael Balch, Rhys Fulber, Chris Peterson, Jeremy Inkel, Jared Slingerland. Musicians and technical personnel FLA have worked with on a regular basis might be mentioned in the band's history or in a yet to be created section on FLA's working routine (well, something like that). In any case, non-members should be mentioned in the respective album articles. This also applies for live musicians that accompanied the promo tour for an album. External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified 2 external links on Front Line Assembly. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
I believe "Frontline" was only used a few times, during the band's very early era. Their 2nd album, State of Mind, was the last to feature 'Frontline' I believe. So the style didn't exist for too long. Xanarki (talk) 17:30, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
Actually, they used both versions throughout their career and still to this day. IndustrialGiant (talk) 21:45, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
