Nostalgia adalah sebuah sentimentalitas untuk masa lalu, biasanya untuk sebuah periode atau tempat dengan asosiasi personal yang bahagia.^[1] Kata nostalgia berasal dari kata bahasa Yunani νόστοςcode: grc is deprecated (nóstos), yang artinya "kepulangan", sebuah kata Homerik, dan ἄλγοςcode: grc is deprecated (álgos), yang artinya "luka" atau "sakit". Disebut sebagai kondisi medis—sebuah bentuk melankoli—pada zaman Modern Awal, ini menjadi sebuah pasukan berpengaruh dalam Romantisisme.^[1]
