Kehidupan awal
Kirk lahir di Salem, Oregon .[ 1] [ 2] [ 3] Rusia-Yahudi dan ayahnya adalah keturunan Denmark dan Inggris .[ 4] [ 1] reservasi penduduk asli Amerika , sampai keluarganya pindah ke Minneapolis , Minnesota , ketika ia berusia 12 tahun.
