Pandangan
Wallace, bersama koleganya dari DTS, Darrell L. Bock, merupakan kritikus terkemuka terhadap upaya "budaya populer" untuk menyerang pandangan mengenai YesusKristus sebagaimana dianut oleh kebanyakan orang Kristen, terutama dari kalangan konservatif dan evangelikal — upaya-upaya penyerangan ini terutama dalam tulisan Elaine Pagels dan Bart Ehrman.[2] Ia merupakan salah satu kontributor Ehrman Project, sebuah situs web yang mengkritik tulisan-tulisan Bart Ehrman.[3] Wallace mengkritisk buku Ehrman Misquoting Jesus: The Story of Who Changed the Bible and Why karena menyalahtafsirkan hasil-hasil studi kritik teksAlkitab, terutama pandangan Ehrman mengenai "orthodox corruption of Scripture" ("korupsi ortodoks Kitab Suci").[4] Wallace dan Ehrman berdiskusi pada the Greer-Heard Point-Counterpoint Forum dalam bulan April, 2008.
