Bahasa Yunani Doria Barat Laut berhubungan dekat dengan Doria Inti.[9] Meskipun Doria Barat Laut umumnya dilihat sebagai kelompok dialek,[9] Méndez-Dosuna brpendapat bahwa Doria Barat bukanlah kelompok dialek utama yang terpisah tetapi hanyalah bahasa umum yang sangat mirip dengan Doria lainnya.[10][11]
Bukti tertulis paling awal yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan besar dengan Doria Inti ditulis sekitar abad ke-6 hingga ke-5 SM.[9] Ini dianggap memberikan bukti untuk fitur Doria Barat Laut, terutama perihal fonologi dan morfofonologi, tetapi sebagian besar fitur dikaitkan dengan Doria Barat Laut masih satu ragam dengan Doria Inti.[9] Dialek Doria Barat Laut berbeda dari dialek Doria Inti disajikan dalam ciri-ciri di bawah ini:[12]

Dialek Fokeis pernah dituturkan di Fokeis terutama di Delfi, yang terkadang disebut sebagai dialek Delfi. Plutarkhos berkata bahwa penduduk Delfi melafalkan b di lingkup bunyi p (βικρὸνcode: grc is deprecated , bukan πικρὸνcode: grc is deprecated )[13]
