Alfred Firmin Loisy (bahasa Prancis: [lwazi]; 28 Februari 1857 – 1 Juni 1940) adalah seorang imam, profesor dan teolog Katolik Roma yang umum disebut sebagai pendiri Modernisme biblikal dalam Gereja Katolik Roma.^[2] Ia adalah seorang kritikus pandangan tradisional dari pembuatan Alkitab dan berpendapat bahwa kritikan terhadap Alkitab dapat diterapkan untuk menafsirkan naskah suci. Pandangan teologinya membuatnya berkonflik dengan kaum konservatif gereja, termasuk Paus Leo XIII dan Paus Pius X. Pada 1893, ia dipecat dari jabatan profesor dari Institut Catholique de Paris. Buku-bukunya dikecam oleh Vatikan.^[3] Pada 1908, ia diekskomunikasi.^[4]
